Battlefield Medicine Saving Lives
Scientists have developed self-propelled particles that are able to swim against the flow of blood of the body, and quickly stop blood loss. This is an incredibly huge advancement for trauma care and battlefield medicine. The researchers used animal models in order to develop this new treatment, and it proved extremely effective at rapidly stopping blood loss in a simulated gunshot wound to a femoral artery. These types of catastrophic injuries can often prove fatal to soldiers. This is a huge medical advancement, thanks to animal research, that is going to help save countless lives.
