PTSD: Horses Helping People

PTSD is often called an “invisible wound of war,” and soldiers with PTSD sometimes struggle to adjust back to normal life after being in combat. Equine Assisted Therapy, or horse therapy, has been shown to help make that adjustment easier. Horse therapy helps those with PTSD break down barriers and promotes faster healing. It also helps to reduce anxiety and can do wonders to improve a person’s outlook on life. Having been a horse person all my life, I can definitely attest that horses have an exceptionally calming and beneficial effect on a person’s mind.
