Dementia Study Benefits Dogs and Humans
By coming up with an IQ test for dogs, researchers are using 68 working border collies to better understand human dementia. Each dog takes about an hour to test and it is noted they enjoy the participation. By testing and studying dog intelligence, which is structurally comparable to human intelligence, and dogs can experience some of the features of dementia, scientists can study the disease and rule out any human factors like education, drug abuse, even economic status. Once again, our pets truly earn the “man’s best friend” title!
